Dhobi Ghat

We are always not sure why some movie's attracts you on a first sight, leaving you traces of what might be; creating curiosity but at the end, an unfortunate titanic sinking effect with just the sweet tit-bites. It's just so not happening. This would be what I summarize my on-going variation of mood's during the pre- and pro- effects of Dhobi Ghat.

If you just visualize the approach of the way to shot a film, i.e. cinematography, then I would give it 100/100 for it. But in a film, a story, a concept is also needed which it just doesn't fulfils. It was like a 1 30 hours trailer of what mumbai has and feels, nothing much of story or a concept, with a reaction Not bad, but not good too

@Dhobi Ghat : The story as such is about 4 people whose life cross each other in amchi mumbai. All 4 are connected with each other, with relationship undefined or  is abrupt. Arun ( Aamir ) is a  very painful painter, and he hardly talks throughout the film. Yamini (Kirti Malhotra) character is pleasing and very surprisal since she is always been engulfed in her own video taken by herself from a handy cam, an amateur video with a meaningful approach which Arun grabs it in his painting and also in his life. Shie (Monica Dogra the NRI) is uncertain in herself with deep affection on Arun and care to munna. Only munna (Prateik Babbar) seems to be the one appearing working throughout, for his daily wages. He is the one whom the title fits, as he is a Dhobhi indeed. Ending is up to us viewer's to predict, because the way kiran wants to depict from the movie is not fully understood by all. Yes, Dhobi Ghat is a documentary movie with overall concept unclear. It lacks the story which a person search's for. There might be a distinct connection between the 4 life, but why was this film done, what was the purpose is missing for elaboration. Especially for a non-mumbaian it is difficult to interrelate, as compare to other mumbai related stories/films, it definitely misses some beats.

@what's interesting: Artistic side has been portrayed very gorgeously, with Aamir being a painter, Monica Dogra, a photography freak. Painting and the photograph's reflects an eye-pleasing site which brings some sort of happiness if you are an artistic person. The way the film is directed can be applauded for, especially when she is in her debut role. Also it highlights the mumbai in and around which is interesting to watch about. Since mumbai is a theme here, this has been elaborated freshly, neatly no doubt. It covers all the nature as well as deep down expectation of mumbaian. All the 4 actors (yes no doubt on Aamir though) played there character role with utmost efficiency.

At the end yes Kiran can be the best director with A but, that let someone else write a story.
